Angelo Starr & The Edwin Starr Band

It is with excitement that we bring Northern Soul back to MECA SWINDON on Saturday 20th September, with the fabulous Angelo Starr & The Edwin Starr Band. Keeping the legend that was EDWIN STARR and his music alive are his original 7 piece band THE TEAM which now features Edwin’s brother and original guitarist ANGELO STARR as lead vocals. He worked alongside Edwin throughout his career.

Opening the evening will be Vocalist Paul Stuart Davies, Paul is championed by many legends of American Soul music and has worked regularly alongside original Motown artists, both on stage and in the studio. He can boast the original Vandellas as his backing singers and has shared duet partners with Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder (In Kim Weston and Charlene) and was described my Marvin Gaye’s wife Janis as “Just about as close as you can get!”

The evening will be accompanied by one of Northern Souls best Vinyl only DJ’s ‘DJFlayva’ playing all your favourites.
